The freedom to play the most mundane, mind numbingly boring football we’ve seen in recent times.
It seemed as though when we scored, it was by accident.

It's funny 'cos it's true!

Ah The Russell Slade era.
Can’t remember which game it was, but I actually went home at half time for one of them, it was that bad,
I know Slade did a decent job under difficult circumstances, but it was easily the worst football I have ever watched. When I was talking to non city supporting mates, would find it difficult to find the words to tell them how boring it was, I’d run out of superlatives.
Every week was a morale sapping ordeal. Shortly after kick off I would find myself wishing the minutes away so I could get out of there and get to the pub and put the experience behind me. It was a weird mixture of anger, despondency and skull crushing boredom. I genuinely saw people led across a row of empty seats sleeping on several occasions.
And then you’d have the bloody after match press conferences which were just as dull.
If you hadn’t experienced it, it would be easy to think it was an exaggeration, but we all know, it really was that bad.

Spot on. Was terrible to watch Solsjkaer's and Trollope's teams too for different reasons. Warnock was a breath of fresh air because there was a plan and we created regular chances again.

Solskjaer was a fucking car crash I even had a personal spat with a Norwegian fella on AAMB who was convinced he was Pep standard.
Win draw lose win draw draw lose win draw draw draw win loose loose draw win that was the pattern of Slades entire reign here.
The crazy thing with Solskjaer was, Tan had his arse in his hand about Malky wasting money on transfers, but he then goes and bankrolls OGS ridiculous scattergun approach to team building.
How many of that team had their contracts paid up and allowed to leave for fack all? That whole period was a bloody embarrassment. We were a total car crash of a club.
leeds doing the double over us was a low point. I was genuinely furious when that happened.
