Good read that. I don't know what new style Harris is trying to implement but I hope he gets it right sooner than later. This thread is for the general discussion of the Article Series:

Lardy did write it but he's obviously on the lookout for some feedback. What do you reckon, too wordy? More stats or something?Got to admit that I switched off halfway through the article. I don't think lardy is the author, but if he is, he has my apologies.
It seems to be that the increased perceived importance of in depth analysis, stats and sports science in general is what is responsible for the production of what QM rightly called "industrial" players. Individual flair has been systematically coached out of the game over the past 20 years and that is why we don't have the wingers who can leave a full back on his backside with a feint or little hip movement, without the need for blinding speed. Forget the step overs, those are for the many one trick ponies out there.
Also God only knows where the tried and trusted body swerve went.

I'm not sure you'll see feedback on a sunday.I don't think he wants more stats
This kind of thing isn't for everyone. It's ok
I dont think you'll see feedback today. Hes probably out cold on a sundayLardy did write it but he's obviously on the lookout for some feedback. What do you reckon, too wordy? More stats or something?

It's a well thought out and well presented piece and deserving of positive ratings. However, I have my doubts about the way that stats taken over the modern game.
You can prove anything with numbers, but you don't have to be a mathematician to appreciate that there is something very wrong with the way City are trying to play at the moment.
I was just thinking that people need to be enticed into reading wordy articles and hesitate at the look of a wall of text so breaking up the text with some images and stats are usually a good thing for analysis articles like these.Exactly right. There's only really one stat that matters and that's the scoreline.I also have my doubts about stats , you can make the stats make them how you want them
