I give builders, sparkies, plumbers or plasterers a cuppa (or 2 if I'm feeling generous), because they'll usually be there for a decent chunk of the day.

But aren't the TV/phone/Internet guys usually just there for half hour, trouble shooting or fiddling with a box?

Dunno, it's only polite I think. Depends on the time of day too, they might not want one if you're their first job but they could be gasping by 11.

I was also wondering whether they'd accepted. My wife is a social worker and she judges people on whether she'd accept the offer of a cup of tea in their house.

I had a look at the menu and not had a cheese burger in a while but also wanted a pizza so it was a very easy decision I dont think it will be fun and games on the bog though.
