Thinking about it, I first went down to Ninian Park with my mates on a Junior Bluebird ticket cut out of the Echo so I must've been about 13 or 14, which would make it about 1993 or 94.

I knew sod all about the art of football back then and nothings changed since.

First match I saw was 1969/1970 season Crystal Palace at home!!!! Probably my favourite time following the City would be nineties :aya: also loved going away with the valley rams :aya:

It must have been about 1994/95 when I first went, can't remember who we played, just remember it was a freezing cold Tues night and swore I wouldn't go again..

I remember taking my daughter for the first time, we sat in the Grandstand, she was sat happily with her colouring book not paying any attention to the game then we scored and the place erupted and scared the shit out of her, she never wanted to go again either :hehe:

I'm a newbie. I never had a 'big' team before, I used to enjoy watching live football and I regularly attended League of Wales games in the town where I lived.

I moved to Cardiff in 2003 and started coming along to games, first game was Cardiff v West Ham, nil nil, I got called a prawn sandwich by drunkards in the Bob Bank because I wasn't hammered and singing.

That didn't put me off, though I did move to an area of the ground with a slightly more discerning clientele.

I started attending more and more regularly and then bought a half season ticket Christmas 2004 and have had one ever since.

I think that might have been 1968/69 as Palace were promoted that season and were in the first division 69/70. If so, I remember the game well, full of hope and expectation for the new season and we got spanked 0 - 4. Never mind, another home game on Tuesday v Charlton, so we will win that one ..... nope, lost that one as well, 0 - 1

My first game was the Greg Farrell game v Middlesbro' , May 1966, when we won 5 - 3, stayed up and sent Boro' down to the third division. I didn't miss many home games over the next half a dozen seasons and managed a few aways as well. It was far less well organised or affordable back then.

First game was in April of the 1959/60 season, City beat the Villa 1-0 to seal promotion to Division. Can’t remember much about the game :old: :hehe:

We went up as the runners up Villa were champions

My family moved to Cardiff in 1969, my uncle had moved to Leicester a few years previously.

So, on 17th October 1970, and almost fifty years ago to the day (Must be a banner surely????), my Uncle was home for a visit, and him and my dad took me down NP to watch City v Leicester city and it ended 2-2

City goals from Ian Gibson and Dave Carver.

Leicester went on to be promoted to the first division, that season where we ended up 3rd - I still wonder "what if" there had been play-offs in those days, we would've kept Toshack and with the crowds we had then, I reckon we'd be up there with Man U and Liverpool now.

I can’t remember tbh think it was sometime in the 80’s, used to be when Annis had brownhills near the station, I think my first game was an away game to qpr as I always remember the road called “ South Africa road” and inside some one way glass maybe where the hospitality was, then I think after that was the Burnley

the usual climb over the wall by the tracks to get into ninian park or look out for a steward called Karen fetini to let me in

Could well have been? Remember it as a nice sunny day a 2-2 draw and I was hooked 👍

I shouldn't have started looking into this :nope:

Can't find a 2 - 2 draw against Palace in that era, but we did draw 2 - 2 with Swindon in the first home game of the 69/70 season , which is the one you originally mentioned.

What a coincidence, I missed that game I got married that day, 50 years this year :hehe:

I was a late comer in the sense I played every weekend until i was into my late teens. Went to Uni on the midlands in 87 and living in house of other football fans (Forest, Chesterfield, Bolton and Gillingham) started then.

My first game was probably around 1977 or so but I count myself as a proper City fan from 87 onwards

As 10 year old being taken to my first ever game was told we were playing crystal Palace it was towards the end of 69/70 season a nice sunny day and the game finished 2-2

As an excited 10 year old being taken to my first game by a friend and his father I always believed it was Crystal Palace at home 2-2 draw nice sunny day? Whenever asked over the last 50 years about my first game I always quote 69/70 season and this game?

How wrong can you be? Well I'm shocked been telling porkies for fifty years😲 never mind I'll have to see who we played near the end of 69/70 at home 2-2 draw? 🤨

The only late season match I can see is 21/03/1969 (68/69 season) City drew 2 - 2 with Portsmouth. :sherlock:

(I have probably got the programme here somewhere)
