that is the point, it can be spelt that way.Don’t you mean Xena?
do you expect anything less than greatness from me?P.s Great example by the way.
I don't, but I'm having a weekend sober and I'm trying to occupy my mind, no matter how inaneP.p.s Remember when you said you didn’t care about this?

is that relevant? Are Xi and Zi English names? So we've got a Greek name, we've got a Russian name.
"We use x and z interchangeably in English"
Any English words?

sometimes we do, for some words that start with X, which for English words is not a lot. do you know why? because the phoneme for X involves using the voice box, and English phonemes just don't do that at the start of words (certainly not with the phoneme indicated by X), so we substitute X with Z to simplify"We use x and z interchangeably in English"

Zena and Xena, as aboveSo any examples of words in English where we can use x or z interchangeably?
Zena and Xena, as above
Nice try but better folk than you have failed at baiting me.
We're at the point now where feedback is pretending he's just playing along, and that's all he was ever doing. Taking the piss mun having a laugh.
But there's no doubt the first dozen or so posts of nonsense were intended seriously. It's like when Fowler joined us in the NP days. Just a shadow of the past glories. Sad to see.
Get well soon feedie

Why is it?Not baiting. In the past, even when you were wrong you could still put up a good argument. I haven't seen that happen in a very long time, and it certainly isn't happening here.
It's a shame.
Why is it?
And if it makes you feel better, I just can't be arsed arguing the toss these days.

I've already stated on several occasions I was referring to the phoneme X being replaced by Z when it's the initial sound of a word. It's no more complicated than that. It's a shame because you used to be good at it
Feedback 2010 would never have said x and z are interchangeable in English, when he meant they sometimes have the same sound. Happens to us all, eventually, I guess.
