Have a read through this thread, which identifies Labour HQ staff, who were placing adverts against Corbyn during the middle of a GE election campaign.

Who gives a shit? Corbyn and his loony lefty mates bullied their way into control of the party in the first place. If it took some robust tactics to remove them, so be it.

Reminds me of when Kinnock and Smith had to purge Militant Tendency to make Labour electable.

You’re probably overthinking it a bit, I am a simple soul.

I come from a working class area with aspirational parents who worked hard, and put everything into making a better life for us, and me in particular.

So, I believe in hard work, I believe in capitalism, I believe that taxing high earners to the hilt (at one point in the 70’s the top band was 83%) is counter productive but that people SHOULD pay tax - I’m looking at you Jacob - but not to the extent that they all disappear overseas and don’t pay anything.

I lived through socialism in the 70’s, and imho it just doe

But here’s the thing, I believe that as a society, our taxes should help those who can’t help themselves.

Capitalism with a conscience you might say.

You may call me naive, and maybe I am, but right now we have a choice between Boris Johnson and Keir Starmer, and for me it’s an easy decision.

If Capitalism is so darned good, how come it needs a state bailout every 10 years?

I do agree with the jist of your sentiment though.

If socialism is so damned good then why is it less appealing than Theresa May or Boris Johnson?

I think you've got your narrative from main stream corporate media, as opposed to an accurate view of how a candidate for leadership of Labour, had to be persuaded to stand in the first place. If you're referring to grass roots pressure, well that's part of the democratic process within Labour.

Game, Set, and Match. Gnasher.

Because he agrees with your viewpoint?

All about opinions though and most people’s opinions are that Corbyn was totally unelectable.

Game set and match the electorate.

Why are you countering the "narrative from main stream corporate media" by linking a blog by a journalist who works for the Daily Telegraph?

He‘s ok with mainstream media when if backs up his bizarre narrative.

All signs point to narcissism.

Why double down on a mistake? What's the point?
There's a few on here who attack positions adopted by posters, but never ever declare what their views are. Being a critic for the sake of it is pointless, unless of course you have a more positive, countetvailing point of view or belief.

1. Corbyn was not a bully. 2. Rosa Prince is a self-employed, freelance author, writer and broadcaster.

Idiots?

Or just a lack of a credible alternative?

Well it depends on your viewpoint I suppose. What cant be denied because the figures are there to see is right wing governments around the world have been woeful in handling the covid epidemic.

Britain is constantly near the top in terms of Covid deaths per population. Italy same. USA is near half a million deaths. Brazil another right wing disaster.

The alternative is investment in the health service and public services and a concise strategy a la New Zealand but the world seems to be engrossed in personality politics and its why we are where we are.

Surely the alternative couldn't have been much worse than the chart below? It's worse because compared to other European countries we had a few weeks notice plus geographically we had the advantage of being an island.

Maybe the alternative prime minister would have bothered going to the first 5 cobra meetings? Who knows.

Okey dokey.

So you are happy to quote a blog, written by a Telegraph journalist, which was based on a book she'd had published by a company owned by a Tory activist and a Conservative member of the House of Lords. The book was criticised for sourcing revelations from the Daily Mail. By your reasoning, this particular article does not count as the "mainstream corporate media narrative" because the writer is paid as a freelancer and not a member of the permanent staff.

So to confirm your viewpoint on this, you are happy to rely on reports from mainstream and right-leaning media provided the articles are written by freelancers and not staffers? This would be useful to know going forward.

Also, I have clearly declared view on this matter. You will be aware of this, because you responded to the post in which I expressed my view. So you are in error on that point.

So why have the left wing governments across Europe failed to be as great as New Zealand then?

It can't possibly be due to different population demographics, geographical factors or far, far less entry points to cover
