For anyone getting complacent and thinking that VicCam's got this whole thing sewn up already, you'd be naive to think he hasn't got Niasse's picture stuck on the dressing room wall. For any that missed the climax of Last 16 matches 1 & 2 yesterday, the line-up for the first Quarter-Final has now been decided...
Beautiful Victor had far too much in the end for Craig Conway to cope with, and sailed through his tie
The other match was a much more closely-fought affair, with the wily Warnock showing his legendary staying power by overcoming a very solid effort by TC. Warnock is now the only current or former member of the City managerial team remaining in the contest, with Slade and Harris having crashed out in the first round.
A reminder that voting is open for Last 16 matches 3 and 4: -

Lastly, I was kicking myself earlier, seeing that the footy has kicked off in Tokyo, that I could have called this competition the Ayatollalympics, which would have been a great name. Perhaps that's one for a later contest
He's also got my picture stuck on his bedroom wall! For anyone getting complacent and thinking that VicCam's got this whole thing sewn up already, you'd be naive to think he hasn't got Niasse's picture stuck on the dressing room wall.
Well I suppose you have to find some reason to like or dislike Leandro BacunaMatchdays 3 and 4 have now concluded and the left-hand side of the draw is complete.
Many years ago, I got so shitfaced on Blue Curacao round a mate's parents' house, that I fell over on their driveway and, instead of trying to get up, just tried to fashion a pillow out of the gravel and go to sleep. On that basis, I have relatively little sympathy for the occasionally blue-haired Curacaoan Leandro Bacuna for his comprehensive defeat by Oumar Niasse.
Niasse is predicted to go far in this tournament, and Matchday 4 confirmed who he will face in the Quarter Finals.
This was marginally closer, with the resurgent Isaac Vassell's goaltime effort overcoming Peter Odemwingie.
So it's Niasse v Vassell. A mouthwatering contest.
Matchdays 5 and 6 will be up soon!
