Cardiff City boss Steve Morison has insisted that the club have not been contacted over striker Kieffer Moore despite reported interest from Bournemouth.
The Bluebirds and Wales striker was subject of interest from Wolves in the summer after a stellar maiden season in the Welsh capital, which saw him net 20 goals for the club.
However, Wolves' advances were batted away, but transfer speculation has once again swirled, as is customary, in this January window.
It was reported last week that Bournemouth were interested in signing Moore, with Cardiff having slapped a £10m price tag on his head.
Then Chris Wood's move from Burnley to Newcastle had many, including Cardiff legend Danny Gabbidon, concerned that they were going to replace the New Zealander like-for-like and come for Moore in this window.
However, Morison claimed such speculation and links had simply been "made up" in the press and that no one at the club had heard of anything concrete pertaining to Moore's potential exit.
"Ultimately, every window it is a conversation," Morison said. "It’s just something that’s made up in the press, because until someone gives us an actual phone call, it feels like a bit of a pointless conversation.
"We keep having the same conversation and nothing ever changes. As far as I’m concerned, Kieffer hasn’t knocked on my door or an agent hasn’t phoned me up, or the board.
"Chris Wood signs for Newcastle and everyone will be telling me he is going to Burnley tomorrow.
"Someone puts it on social media and it causes an unnecessary storm."
When asked to confirm that Moore did in fact want to stay, Morison responded: "Unless you lot ask me the question, it’s not something which is spoken about. "There is nothing in it whatsoever."
The forward has been absent since he limped off in the game against Bournemouth on December 30.
He is once again unavailable for this weekend's clash with Blackburn Rovers as he attempts to recover from the ankle injury and his latest bout of Covid-19.
