My broadband with sky is up next month and I need to get rid of these thieving bastards, anyone got any decent set up? I’ve only ever been with sky so don’t know what other providers are like, Seen a decent deal with BT or should I say cheaper than sky but there looks to be real cheap deals with talk talk and Vodaphone

Vodafone have been great for me, actually stayed on with them for an extra 18 months. Talk talk have always been a nightmare.

Recently sorted mine out.

From what I researched, Virgin seem to provide the fastest broadband for us valley types. Personally I renewed with Sky because I tell them I’m leaving and they offer me everything half price so it’s a no brainer. However their broadband is fine for me and the missus with our old people stuff, not so great if you’re looking for something a bit more able to cope with lots of tech.

That’s about the extent of my knowledge but I expect Brian and Stanty will be along soon with some in-depth analysis.

Stanty starts losing me when he talks about throughput rather than speeds. I've always assumed he was talking about his morning routines.

If you want your broadband to always be working, then stay with sky.

I've had fucking nightmares with Virgin Media over the last 12 months with different things but when it comes to pricing then I don't think they can be matched for package deals.

I upgraded a week ago to the best package on their site (of course I had to tell them I was leaving before retentions rang me to tell me I could have the new customer offer)... But since then I've been having issues with the broadband which they weren't resolving.

I spoke to the disconnections team yesterday and said that I am ending the contract within the cooling off period due to the issues not being resolved. They got an engineer out yesterday evening and it's now sorted. The cunts. Took 6 months to resolve an issue last year and only did something after I complained to ofcom.

So.... Basically... If you want all of the TV channels (sky and BT sports, films all in HD), multi-room, 1gb broadband, 250gb SIM with unlimited calls and texts, unlimited local calls with landline, free standard Netflix, free Disney plus with your sim deal and don't care about customer service if your broadband is playing up, then for £85 p/m you can enjoy the wonders of the Virgin Media Ultimate Volt bundle :hehe:

If you want to get £60 in cashback let me know :coat:

Never had a problem with EE to speak of. In the past 3 years one instance of planned maintenance with advance notice provided.
As others have said, Talk Talk is the only one I've heard justified negative comments about.

EDIT: Broadband Only Subscription

Vodafone have excel price deals but low customer satisfaction compared with others. I was with EE for mobile so got fibre via them. Good value and no issues 6 months in

I'm paying Virgin £85 a month for 200Mb broadband, ultimate TV plus BT sports only.

Can I lend your Sky, Netflix, Disney, 5x broadband speed, multi room, and SIM please?

They're shitbags. As a new customer I'd get half price deals. As a loyal customer I can go fuck myself apparently

But BT provide Sky with their broadband :shrug2:
Used to have WiFi blackouts with BT though, no internet for a few seconds every so often, doesn’t sound like much but it’s really noticeable especially when on calls/browsing, watching porn etc. Not had that with Sky at all yet.

Possibly a router issue IF it was only wifi.

Not helpful to the decision making process here, I know, but, just for context .....

At our new place, we were able to get the local roll out of fibre with Orange, offering speeds of up to 600mbps for 50€ per month, plus internet based French TV. It actually runs at about 40mbps max, but, as it happens, that is fine for streaming and or gaming on two TV's.

My real grumble is with the TV package which keeps randomnly subscribing us to channels we haven't ordered. Even if I can get through to their customer service and have the channel cancelled, we are still charged for a notice period.

This week, we have been subscribed to a selection of African channels for 14,99€ per month, which is curious, as I had completely disconnected their decoder two weeks ago. Haven't been able to get through to complain as their lines are jammed.

:nope:
