A right back who had started his football career at Porth during the early 1930's before moving on to Margate (who supplied many players with a path into the Football League at that time), then Tunbridge Wells, before finding his way to Gillingham for 3 seasons where he featured in 45 League matches for them. He joined City following Gillingham's failure to secure re-election to the Football League and became first choice in the right back position. Another of the players who had football careers ended by the Second World War. George Ballsom died in 1983.
