
City's regular goalkeeper during their first season in the First Division. He had previously made 32 League appearances for Middlesbrough, and on joining City had taken over from Jack Kneeshaw as the number one keeper during the 1920-21 season, but his first team opportunities became less and less with the emergence of Tom Farquharson. He moved on to Leicester City during the close season of 1923, but made only 3 League appearances there before moving on to Bradford Park Avenue, where he failed to make the first team and ended his footballing days sometime in 1925. Ben Davies died in Middlesbrough in 1970.
