A hugely talented wide attacking player who seemed to have a wonderful future in the game, and whose eventual fall from grace should stand as a warning to all young footballers. Having attracted the interest of a number of clubs as a young man, including Arsenal, he opted to accept an offer of a contract with Queens Park Rangers in November 1997 after completing a training period with them. He made 12 League appearances before a series of disciplinary offences culminated with his being shown the door in March 2001, and he returned to South Wales. After he completed a probationary period with no problems, City offered him terms, but his entire stay with City seemed to be beset with problems off the field, which at one point lead to a period in the Priory Clinic in an attempt to help him over his problems. After a couple of distinctly promising first team appearances, in particular against Swansea City in the F.A.W. Premier Cup, unfortunately he failed a mandatory drug test during the summer of 2002, which lead to his dismissal from the club. After that he suffered the trauma of a well publicised court case, before attempting to revive his playing career at Barry Town in March 2003, an engagement that ended with Barry's financial collapse in the early months of the 2003-04 season.
