A goalkeeper brought in on loan from Oxford United diring the 1987-88 promotion season to cover for a injury to City's regular goalkeeper. He had started out at Luton Town in January 1978 for whom he played 11 League matches before moving on to Reading (77 League appearances), and then Oxford United (80 League matches), which also included 2 games on loan to Lincoln City. On leaving Oxford he took a move to Hereford United, where he played another 105 League matches, then spent one last season in 1994-95 as a reserve at Chelsea, where he failed to make the first team. He later became goalkeeping coach at Oxford United. Just as a postscript to his league career, he came out of retirement to play one last game in an emergency for Oxford United in 2002-03.
