He got more than dogs abuse on twitter as well that fella, a lot of it from England fans. People were faking porn website profiles, saying it was him, claiming he was into all sorts of depraved stuff, faking tweets that he was a perv, calling his work on the phone, saying he was a peado and giving out his address all sorts of stuff, at one point he was trending on twitter for it all as well.

Also, The Sun ran a story saying that "England fans" were raising money for the girl.

There's one guy who probably won't be doing anything altruistic for a while.

I am not interested in any of the hype surronding this game, so I haven't read or watched what is on the link. Nevertheless, I do understand the sentiment that appears to be being expressed. We all know about plastic supporters in both South and North Wales following the big PL clubs, so supporting the England national team is merely a progression from that.

Whereas I wouldn't personally support England, I can see the benefit for football in these islands in a group of UK born players beating the cream of Europe, from whom those same big PL clubs cherry pick the mercenaries who, in turn, hinder and deny young British talent from getting places in those squads.

There would be a certain sense of irony in an England victory.
