I don't know why anyone wanted to leave, and when I hear reasons for leaving I never hear anything that actually physically or econonomically benefits any of us.

At the end of the day, we're leaving the football pitch and all the other lads are still playing. But, we want to take the ball home because we need that to carry on playing.
It's an act of catastrophic self destruction, and the ONLY believable reason for it was the promise of Billions of pounds that Joris made to his speculator friends on the economy crashing.

"The talks are over"

It's an Australian style system it is then.

The EU have messed with the wrong PM, Barnier has now realised that Boris is no Theresa May.

Back to getting this island at the forefront of engineering and manufacturing etc etc etc.

100 years ago we were the biggest empire in the world.
Haven't been invaded since 1066.

Let's make Britain Great again.

One of the big reasons why their manufacturing survives, is because their population/citizens will always buy German made products first and foremost. It's been quite a while since we've had that same 'loyalty' to product buying in this country
True, and it's the same with the farmers. We go to a supermarket and get what we think is the cheapest and easiest meat to buy. I was buying pork chops from Asda until the covid crisis meant I was queuing for an hour to get in, then leaving having forgotten loads of stuff. 4 pork chops were about £3 if I remember right. But these chops were tiny, gristly, fatty.

Then I went to a butcher in Tredegar, Tyrone's. 2 pork chops for £3.50 and they are massive things, delicious, and sourced local like. The funny thing is that most of the farmers voted for Brexit, and will see their chicken replaced on supermarket shelves with American chicken that is cruelly raised. But, it is cheaper. And, you have to say "Why is it cheaper for me to buy 4 American chicken breasts compared to 4 British chicken breasts - it costs more to transport them here, but they are cheaper?" And our farmers, who mostly care for animal welfare, will be at a disadvantage because now the UK market is being flooded with hormone induced beef and badly looked after chicken. And, we'll complain, then we'll be won over. It don't taste so bad after all, and you save 50p a week so you can buy another gadget made in China or Taiwan.

Manufacturing was killed by Thatcher, and mass employment is killed by technology. Soon it will be AI and we need the brightest young heads in our universities to put us ahead of the rest. Problem is, we don't want forriners over ere taking our jobs like.

The thing is, and I ain't having a go at Nuge here, but when it all unravels he will blame covid. And he will blame us for not following the rules and causing a long second wave. He blamed us for the surge in cases, but forgot he wanted us back in offices, and he wanted us eating out and helping out, and he wanted us to go out with confidence, and he wanted the pubs open.

He's even lost his Brexit pal, the one with the beef and onion complexion who runs Wetherspoons. The last time I went in Wetherspoons was for a shit.

That was the end of any hope of getting 60% of people to follow rules. Awful man, not even a Tory, but his ideas have been adopted by the shape shifters. Filthy dirty party. It comes to something when we even think "actually David Cameron may have done a better job".

I try to buy Welsh or British where I can. Farmers can be massive hypocrites - insisting people buy their produce because of nationality but buying foreign fertiliser, feed and machinery if its cheaper. Like the EU or not its farm subsudies has kept a lot if unsustainable farms going.

Also endless food produced in EU going to waste, set aside et al. It always amused me that EU hate state aid yet the faring industry was always massively over subsidised.

Set aside is meant to be for environmental purposes. It seems to me that Brexit voting farmers voted to kill the goose that laid their golden eggs. I can't see there being any truth in a reduction in red tape for them and any farmers who export will have to comply with the other countries rules anyhow.

Not only that, they will now have to compete with cheaper US product coming into the market

Which they were of course warned about

Britain was invaded by the French in 1797 with the only fighting taking place at the Battle of Fishguard
