My Gran is in tier 1 and my wife in tier 2, both having their first jabs today.

I forget what the figures are, but there's a whole army of 'volunteer' carers, mostly family members, who have been completely ignored by this vaccine rollout. I'm sure many of us will know at least one, and understandably under the the current situation, any respite care has been taken away. The least they could've done was to include these people somewhere in the priority list

I misread the original, both my wife & Gran in tier two.

Gran lives in RCT, wife works there. My Gran got a call from her GP and given a date, my wife had to book via her work.

She suspect they're targeting the worst hit areas first. I'm in the tier without a number, but may well be in tier 9 before this is all over..

Everyone in in Tier 1 will also be in the eligibility criteria for Tier 2. Perhaps they're unable to separate the numbers at this high a level.

Just looked it up, there's apparently 1.3 million people in the UK claiming carers allowance and no doubt many more who don't even bother claiming the derisory amount
