In that case if the number of people getting tested without symptoms is falling dramatically, leaving a much higher ratio of people with symptoms getting tested, you would have expected to see a dramatic rise in % positivity of those being tested

Anyway, back on point, there is absolutely no comparison between the two situations in Cardiff and Alabama.

Say one hundred max in Cardiff, compared to 10s of 1000s in the States plus the ones here were wearing a very high percentage of face masks (actually 100% of them in this BBC pic)
