I'd change GP if that was happening to me.

It's something we're considering tbh, but it's the most convenient surgery to our location; her dealings with the surgery are pretty minimal at best.

Friend of a friend who has a medical condition hadn’t been contacted, when they contacted the NHS, it turned out their GP hadn’t informed the mass vaccination centre people of their condition.
Human error, whether it be at the NHS or the post office I guess, there’s always going to be a few slipping through the net

Agree. Given the enormous numbers involved, there will always be some missed for various reasons. I think people ringing phone ins, vox pops on news programmes and anecdotal incidences can give a misleading impression that more people are getting missed than actually are.

Indeed - the vaccination process overall has been incredible when you think of the scale and achievements. Patting on the back though doesn't help those missed out and lessons need to be learnt as to why people were missed.

I'd definitely do it, or complain to the secretary.

I did that at my last GP. I had a terrible stomach pain, couldn't sit. Called them up at 8:15, all the appointments had gone. Receptionist told me I needed to call earlier. I told her, polite like, that I was in agony, couldn't sit at all. She told me to go to the physio. I lost it at that stage, slammed the phone down (was in real agony) and ended up driving to A&E and being kept there two nights.

When I got back, I complained to the secretary and left the practice.

Another possibility is that people’s records might not be up to date, eg new phone number etc

Especially given the older generation are less likely to kick up a fuss. Guess mum is lucky I'm a sarcastic gobshite.

Just after I had my letter from the mass vaccination centre, I had a text from my GP asking me to phone in for an appointment. They’ve been regularly updating their Facebook page and asking people to check the surgery’s website.
So if Doris doesn’t have a mobile and doesn’t use Facebook........

Again, can only comment on the situation I know. Surgery claimed all over 75s had been jabbed. My mum was one that was missed - how do we know how many were missed, how do we know how man missed were detected by whatever process the surgery have in place?
