Did you have to buy a carnet for each piece of equipment required for your job as well? Did you require a special licence to drive that van full of equipment? These already make touring Europe as a small band immediately financially unviable. Then you realise that selling t-shirts & records weren't worth it due to the additional work on paying tax in that country.
