I was having a minor disagreement with a German company the other day, and the feller apologised to me saying “Sorry, we are not used to dealing with countries from outside the EU”.

Heard a guy on the radio whistleblowing about how they operated doing this

He was hired by an agency who told him and all the other crew that they would be manning a new boat. Didn’t tell them a single other thing. They all congregated at a hotel and got loaded onto busses at 5am yesterday morning. Still not told a thing about what they were doing

Stopped at a services and picked up a load of security people with cuffs and all that. Said that’s when it became a bit weird.

Got to the docks where it seemed there was a bit of a scene going on. Now this guy had actually been on the boat working 3 weeks earlier so had some of the crews numbers. Called one of them up and got the lowdown on what was actually happening. At that point he got off the bus and said he wasn’t doing it, along with a few others

They were basically going to be temp crew on the boats and would have been kicked off the job as well once the cheap foreign labour came in, but we’re never told a thing about what they were doing

Utterly disgusting, reprehensible actions from P&O. Should take their licences off them
