Try clicking the light/dark bulb icon at the top right and see if it updates for you

Just so I get this right, you click the smiley icon in the toolbar, click the smiley you want to post and then you have to use arrow keys to move the cursor where?
Is this on a Windows laptop?
The cursor appears before the smiley once posted, but isn't that normal?
To start typing after the smiley, it wont let me click anywhere after, it always used to.

When you click to add the smiley, how are you getting back to the reply box? Are you clicking the X on the smiley box or clicking inside the reply box?To start typing after the smiley, it wont let me click anywhere after, it always used to.

I was clicking in the reply box but just tried closing the box and it does put it after the smiley, I'm just used to clicking where I want and typing I guess
I just tried getting the smileys picker going again but it just won't work.
