No that's not right. He needs to be match fit. Two different things.
He will be playing against the best in the world with very few games under his belt and that's in a pub league.
But he is Bale so let's hope he will be ok

I agree, even a boxer has to get his sparring in to be fighting fit. Skipping and running isn't enough. He has to be playing decent football to be match fit.

In a squad that is picked on sentiment I for one won't be surprised if he starts no matter what his fitness levels are .His form in his last few games for Wales hasn't been the best .But he's seen as our talisman another reason he'll be starting.
