I've never heard the Welsh name before - translates as monk's bridge.Three bridges span the chasm above the Mynach river near Aberystwyth, strangely stacked one upon the next.
This is Pontarfynach, or “Devil’s Bridge”.
The original bridge dates back to sometime between 1075-1200, the middle bridge to 1753 and the upper span to 1902.
