On This Day in 1283: Execution of Dafydd ap Gruffydd, the last independent ruler of Wales, for treason against Edward I. He was dragged through the streets of Shrewsbury he was hanged alive, revived, then disembowelled and his entrails burned before him, his body cut into four quarters.
The famous Gwydir table is coming home - almost 100yrs after it was sold! An incredibly rare piece of Welsh history - made for Sir John Wynn around 1590. Significant donation from US donor has made this possible.
