Interesting listen.

It's a shame that City requested an audio-only interview, as Dalman couldn't have sounded much less enthused to be answering the questions and we don't have the benefit of watching his body language to see otherwise.

I'd like to think I'm fairly level-headed about this stuff and have backed the actions of the owner & board where I've reasonably felt I could, but most of that interview could have come from any other time Mehmet's been wheeled out to placate us over the past few years.

He can't give us straight answers on the important stuff. as ever, as he either isn't given the authority on such matters, or he wants us to think he isn't. He doesn't sound like he's got all that much conviction in the recruitment process that's been put in place, just that it's probably better than all the other times they've thought they've got it right before. Nor does it sound like we've actually decided what we need. Is it an experienced head who's done it before, is it an up & comer, or is it another punt on a contental name? He's hedged his bets on that one.

And TBH, claiming that he and the others really care and are invested in the success of the club beyond their financial interests would have a touch more credibility if any of them actually managed to drag their arses down to Cardiff occasionally. Actions speak louder than words.

Spot on.

I haven’t listened to it because I’ve got no interest in anything he’s got to say but essentially it’s just more of the same shit.

Without proper change nothing will matter. Perhaps they can use that recruitment agency bollocks to have a deeper look at the club and decide if it’s more than a manager we need?

Ultimately we all know what’s needed - proper people running the club on a full time basis rather than two part time chancers stealing a wage.

He gave you a shout out to be fair

I found Carl’s chat with the journo Dafydd Pritchard far more interesting than the one with Dalman.

I just feel insulted after every time i've listened to him.

Did he mention Rubin's three day wedding did he turn up for one ,two or three days?

He just sounded completely disinterested in everything

At least he’s shifted his stance from “nothing to do with me guv” to “a little bit to do with me guv”

Made me laugh when he said a lot of the criticism was unjust:hehe:

Nothing going to change anytime soon…going to be a long hard winter for City fans

Yup, more of the same by the looks of it. More failure, that is.

Tan isn't going to change, Dalman seems fed up of it but short of quitting a business he has a vested interest in, he's not going to stick his neck out any more than he probably has already.

I've no idea why Tan thinks it acceptable to run both his clubs like this when he'd never dream of running any of his other businesses this way but unless somebody comes in and offers a ridiculous amount for the cub it looks like we're stuck with all of it.

It takes something to have the arrogance of not changing in the light of all this failure. I'm really nervous about who gets the job and, if I had to bet, I would be looking at Ralls, Ramsey or even Purse. I just think Tan has got to the stage where the manager's job is not very important at this club.

Here's how I think things are at the club and why we're in a rut we'll struggle to get out of unless something massive happens.

Tan has other interests so runs things from the other side of the world, so he has two guys he feels he can trust running things, but they're doing so part-time and without the necessary experience of running a football club.

For Tan, trust is more important than experience.

Tan sets a budget but I reckon Dalman convinced him to splash out a bit to really go for it, bringing in Bulut, who Dalman thought was a top manager, and most of us were willing to go along with that because he did seem the part at first. He also manages to bring in a marquee singing in the form of Ramsey so everyone has high hopes.

But Bulut turned out to be a dud, the feelgood factor dissolves and we quickly revert to putting interim managers in charge until we're relegated.

So now Tan is thrice bitten, thrice shy with no clue what to do about it. Dalman is out of ideas too, and here we are, still no sign of an experienced manager, no DOF, malaise amongst the club and fans alike with no light at the end of the tunnel.

This.

It petrifies me thinking about how much longer we’re gonna endure this shit show for, Tan’s stubbornness is what’s mainly to blame for us being in this position. We’re gonna be in league 1 for a very long time and unfortunately I think that’ll be the best outcome we can hope for, I haven’t a clue what to expect next season but it wouldn’t shock me one bit if we see ourselves slide down the table once again. Might be cliché but the club really is in a downward spiral right now :nope:

I'd rather watch DJ Audits me.

If I listen to this podcast on my way home from London tomorrow instead of the Charlie Oatway one on undr the cosh, and this Dalman one turns out to be shit.
I'll be tamping

Tan isn’t known as the dictator (amongst other things) for nothing.

Supporting this club the last few years has become a real chore. The fans are desperate for something to give us some hope and then you hear an interview like this from the chairman. It’s depressing.
