Another great win @ Hungerford yesterday to keep them top of the league over the Christmas period.They are home against Walton & Hersham tomorrow who are currently in forth place so a difficult game expected.So why not shake off the Cardiff City blues by taking a trip up to Penadaren park to see some proper football played by semi professional footballers who care about the fans and take pride in the shirt they wear

It's a great club again and getting to the Conference South will need investment. Fan numbers are good. It will be a massive step up. Hoping Torquay somehow blow it in the Conference South, and a Torquay v Merthyr League game is a possibility.

I saw a thread on this elsewhere and it seemed most of their fanbase was strongly opposed

Talking to one of the fans today and he said that if this had been offered two seasons ago then it might have happened.He couldn't predict the outcome but personally didn't want it.
I Don't think they would keep many of the current squad maybe the local lads so there would be a period of a season or two before they would win it.
Don't know if the fans would turn up in the numbers they do at tge moment if they where in the Welsh pyramid ,but if they did they would dwarf every other team in the league with the support they can get

Personally if I where the FAW I would offer whatever is needed to get Merthyr to join the Welsh league system,because with all due respect to TNS who have done brilliantly in representing Wales in Europe this season,Merthyr could take it on a futher

I took my lad up to watch them play Dorchester on the weekend. Game finished 0-0, with about 1500 there. To be honest, it was the most I’ve enjoyed a game in quite a while. Will definitely be heading back again this season.

I know lads who were brilliant and couldn't get into a League of Wales team. Also know lads at clubs in South Wales who are definitely not pub players and are two divisions below the Welsh Premier.
