I've seen that reference to the design as well, but I have my doubts about it. Is there an inner courtyard? I think there would have to be to get anywhere near 365 windows. I don't see any round windows either.![]()
Barry Docks & Railway Office, built 1897 - 1900, is a Calendar Building.
It features 4 floors (seasons), 52 marble fireplaces (weeks in a year), 12 panels in the porch (months), 2 circular windows, one on each side of the porch representing the Sun and Moon, 7 lights behind the traceried fanlight window (days in a week), 365 windows ( days in a year) and a staircase of Portland stone which consists of 31 stairs (days in most months).

Porter is an old fashioned very dark beer, usually bottled. Less sweet that stout.Porter. I think it's something like a Brains Dark. Probably wrong though![]()

The Drope viaduct known locally as the 9 arches, it carried coal and passenger trains from valleys to Barry Docks and Barry Island, demolished ( by dynamite) it the early 70s for the building of the first part of the A4232.
I worked in the Law Courts for a few months in 1976 and would often walk around that area in my lunch breaks, I can't remember them being there then, but that doesn't mean that they weren't.![]()
