Corporation Water Car 131 pictured on Moira Terrace 1940s. Adam Street and prison walls in background Rail bridge long gone and road widened considerably. Nowadays the car on display at National Tramway Museum.

THE night of March 28 1944, saw the final air raid on Cardiff by the Luftwaffe during World War II. Cardiff and Swansea bore the brunt of the attacks in Wales, with 355 people losing their lives in Cardiff and 227 in Swansea during an intense three-night raid in February, 1941.
There were also attacks in Caernarfonshire, which was on the flight path to Liverpool, and Cwmparc in the Rhondda, where in April, 1941, 27 people were killed during a bombing raid.
