Cardiff Corporation single decker trolleybus Reg No KBO 961, new in 1955, is seen here in 1963 on route 14 at the Pier Head terminus.

Pretty sure I mentioned this before on here, but although I can clearly remember seeing and travelling on double decker trolley buses, I'd never seen a single decker one in my life until Travis put a photo of one on here.

The trolley bus network was remarkable in its extent and what had been involved in putting it in place. Gone full circle now

So, the single decker buses were only used for trips involving that bridge then? That would explain why I can't remember them because I used to live in Fairwater from the age of four and so wouldn't have been on a route that went to Bute Street.

Am I right in thinking that trolley buses were only able to travel as far as Victoria Park in west Cardiff?

Trolleybus routes extended into Ely from 1955 via Cowbridge Road West and Grand Avenue on a circular route and vice versa. 10A and 10B. They continued on timetable until December 1969 with specials on the last day of trolleybus operations in January 1970.

As said above, the trolleys went to Grand Avenue. I used them a lot as my grandmother lived up there, just past the Church of the Ressurection.

I reckon I never went on a trolley bus more that 10 times as they never went to Rumney
