The Rummer Tavern in Duke Street is believed to be the city's oldest pub, with origins dating back to at least 1713. It served as a vital coaching inn in the 18th and 19th centuries, notably acting as a hub for the "Hero" coach service to Birmingham in 1840. The Tudor-style building is a renowned, historic local spot known for hauntings. Picture from 1971.
I don't understand why it can't be run as a posh tourist pub making the most of it's exterior, history and view of the castle. Go a bit higher end. It's been shit for about ten years now

Here’s an (I think) interesting article on something called ‘Centreplan 70’, which was a plan aimed at redeveloping a large portion of the city centre, in the early 1970s:

Apparently, recession limited how much of the plan was eventually realised. I could not recall ever having heard of it, before.

Photo taken looking down onto Richmond rd, with Death junction and Albany rd in the distance. The occasion was either soldiers before the start (1899) or returning from The Boer War (1902) or the parade for the opening of Roath Park in 1894, which had a large military presence?

There is something about the coloured photo that is not quite right. I've mentioned before that I think some of these photos have been enhanced by AI as opposed to a traditional editing program.

The number plate on the car is the giveaway here. A Google search on the coloured photo doesn't show up anything, but I have stripped out the colour in the first photo below and the searched it again. That gave a result which is the second photo which shows a clear registration plate.

The one thing that AI is not very good at is reproducing script, so I think this photo is a clear example.
