Aden Flint up for Championship player of the month
Cardiff City defender Aden Flint has been nominated as one of four players up for August's official EFL Championship Player of the Month.
Flint is the highest-rated player currently listed on WhoScored in the Championship thanks to his tremendous start for the Bluebirds this term.
The centre-back has scored four goals so far this season, becoming the joint-top scorer in the division alongside Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andreas Weimann.
The other players up for the award are Mitrovic, Rob Dickie of QPR and Sorba Thomas of Huddersfield.
The EFL wrote alongside Flint's nomination : "For a player whose primary role is to defend, Flint made a huge impact at the other end of the pitch with four goals - all headers - in five games. They came in braces, against Peterborough and Millwall, to underline Flint’s aerial prowess."
Chelsea are interested in Jules Kounde and Franck Kessie but Timo Werner is a target for Bayern Munich, Arsenal identify Youssef En-Nesyri as a possible Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replacement, plus more.
