Football Protest at last home game?

If we are already down by then, those who always reject protest as they claim it will have an adverse affect on the players would no longer have that excuse. We have to stop collectively fawning at the owner and let him know that he needs to run the club properly or hand it over to someone that can. If now isn’t the time to make our voices heard I don’t know when it will be.

I think it's probably a good idea for fans to protest whether we survive or not. Tan has been an absentee owner since we fell out of the Prem and needs to understand that the club is not being run the way it should.

I sympathise with the idea but it won't change anything.
Tan and the board must already be aware of fans feelings .
I would like to say I won't buy a season ticket next season but then I will be spitting myself.
It's a difficult choice to make for some.

Any possibility of a bit of dough, he'll stick around and bugger off once sorted.

I think this is the problem. Tan clearly knows the hotel/leisure business and made an absolute mint. But he views anyone who disagrees with him as an idiot and it was clear from the Interview last year that he knows fans are unhappy and isn't bothered, telling us to go and find some Welsh billionaire. He's splashed out on players who've turned out to be shite so doesn't trust football types. The rest of the senior positions are without real power. There has been talk that potential buyers found him impossible to deal with. Best hope seems that he gets a "win" in the Sala case and decides enough is enough. Until then we're stuck with the world's richest toddler as owner.

I said this last time, but I do think that protesting for something that is actually deliverable would be more worthwhile.

Forcing Tan to sell is virtually impossible. He's only going to sell if the right offer is made and he's already openly said that the club is for sale at the right price. He's not going to crystallise a loss of countless millions of quid just because a bunch of angry folk on the other side of the world want him to sell at a time of their choosing.

His financial stewardship of the club isn't really the issue: he's continued pumping money in, albeit in smaller quantities, to the squad - to the extent that our playing squad is better now than it's been for ages, imo - and has supported the wider facilities. All supposedly largely at his cost.

The issue is the day to day decision making. Had we appointed a decent, experienced manager at any of the numerous opportunities we've had to do so this year, there's no way we'd be in the mess we're in now.

That may ultimately be down to Tan, it may be down to Choo and Dalman, but whatever, as a group they do not have the skills to run the football side of the club.

So why not target boardroom change - a full-time CEO and a Chairman with proper football experience, for starters - rather than ownership change? That's something Tan could actually deliver, that would actually benefit him, and wouldn't involve losing that much face, since we could all pretend that the mess was Choo & Dalman's making.
