You can't jump up and down and stamp your foot and demand another vote just because you didn't like the result of the first one.
If there was a significant number of those taking part yesterday who were originally Leave voters but were now for Remain then maybe a case could be put forward.
However I am not aware of any evidence that is the case, rather that the Remain side has just got even louder than previously.
My issue here is that we elect mp’s to represent us and make difficult decisions on our behalf in our best interests. In the case of brexit, MP’s delegated arguable the biggest decision since the war to a group of people who are simply not qualified to make such a decision.
To make matters worse, that decision was too binary.
Even worse, some of those who campaigned for leave didn’t really want to leave.
Those that did, basically lied and cheated their way to victory.
But the real kicker here for me is that this is a decision that will hurt everyone. Permanently.
This is not like a GE where we can rectify our mistake. It’s not the X factor where we complain about the result, but by Monday we’ve forgotten about it.
Why should my employer suffer? Why should my colleagues suffer? Why should our customers suffer? Why should my boy suffer? Not for a year, not for five years, but forever. Just because some people have a vague idea about sovereignty.
MP’s get to vote on this over and over again. How come we only get one shot at it?
Why is one referendum good, but two is bad?
