Bristol Zoo Gardens housed some 10,000 animals and many endangered species.

Went there a few times as a kid,I remember a statue of the head of a gorilla Alf his name was(same as my Grandfather).Then there was this polar bear who used to walk in a trance around his enclosure poor bugger.Johnnie Morris used to do a kids programme and used to fo filming there,he also did brilliant animal impressions,think it was brought back on some TV programme a few years ag Oh and apparently an Auntie of mine went there as a helper on a school trip and she was later found sat on a park bench dead as a Dodo
