The irony of lefties advocating prison terms over freedom of speech whilst also being fine with people sending death threats to women on social media who don't adhere to the narrative and calling other people fascists at the same time.
Who’s advocating prison time for him?
Who’s fine with sending death threats to women?

Big if true. Like Mrs R you appear to be glossing over the bit where he suggests people punch people they don't like the look of.

He said that if a man is invading a female only space, punch him in the balls.

The part you and your ilk are glossing over is a comedy writer making the joke about someone pretending to be a woman having balls.

But sure, send in the armed police instead I suppose.

Tbf, unless there’s a tweet I haven’t seen, that was clearly a joke, “punch a trans woman in his balls”. Not the funniest thing I’ve seen, but hardly worth being arrested for.

As I said before, the armed police headline suggests they sent the sweeny in, all tooled up, when the reality is that Heathrow police are all armed. No weapons were drawn.

But again, for the avoidance of doubt, a stern ticking off by a traffic warden would’ve been over the top.

Oh don't worry, there's plenty of people who would be fine with the notion of a SWAT team kicking his door in at 3am and dragging him out of his house hog tied for his "offences".

I've been saying it for years, freedom of speech in this country is a thing of the past and it happened on our watch.

By saying "trans identifying male" he was just being, as usual, transphobic.

So you’re agreed that it’s bullshit then?

So that just leaves Fitter who seems ok with it?

Before this thread gets bogged down by the usual nonsense maybe he can simply clarify that he’s ok with him being arrested for what was obviously a tongue in cheek comment ?

What say you @Eat Y'self Fitter ?

I don’t recall suggesting it was anything else :shrug2:

My issue is his call for violence against people a toilet vigilante doesn't like the look of. Saying it's a joke after the event is just getting his excuses in early.

Wrong.

That’s his opinion and he’s entitled to it.

People have different opinions on this stuff. That how life works.

If you want people to accept your view then explain it. If people then disagree that’s their prerogative.

Last time I checked it’s not a crime to have a different opinion and make tongue in cheek comments about it. If it was then most of us on here would be down the local station - including you.

He's certainly entitled to hold that opinion but it doesn't change the fact it's a transphobic opinion.

Nor is it a crime to have a different opinion, but if people now start punching people they don't like the look of in toilets and say it was because of Linehan, well.

Saying "a male that identifies as trans" is transphobic? It's a 100% truthful statement. Nobody should be forced to buy into someone else's delusion.

It's definitely not worthy of police involvement even if the deluded think it is.

Well then that’s where we’ll agree to differ.

Personally I think him saying to punch them in the balls is the obvious part of the joke. Because ‘she’ will have balls. Just like the Ricky Gervais bit where he says “Her penis, you monster”

If you can’t see that then that’s up to you. However I’m pretty sure the vast majority of people can see that judging by the reaction to him getting arrested.

If you’re ok with people getting arrested for tongue in cheek comments because it ticks a box then let’s hope they don’t start moving the line any more and you find yourself on the ‘wrong’ side.

Yes you have Tone.

I was just trying to clarify exactly how many people on here are ok with this stuff happening?

And this is some bullshit as well. He was clearly posting a joke, I don't know how he's to blame for the sense of humour bypass people suddenly have once it's something they've decided to get offended over.

If anyone actually punched someone in the nuts because of that it should be the assaulter that gets arrested, nobody else.

Not only is it his opinion but it's a protected belief in law, see the Maya Forstater case.
