I don't know for sure but they've already started with the big places like social media and search engines and I don't see why they wouldn't be making their way down to smaller places like forums soon.

Yes I noticed that safe search was default on Bing yesterday and couldn't change it unless I turned my VPN on

Also spotted that online gambling doesn't seem to require an age check. I'd say that poses a massive risk to kids.

You need an account to gamble and I believe there are some age checks with that. I’ve had to do passport stuff signing up for accounts

Oddly, I've only once had to do a passport thing and that was when I wanted my winnings back. No such checks when I was depositing.

It's been a while since I have used them, but last one was set up using paypal only, although I do remember having to use my driving licence once for one of the bookies.

I'll admit I was looking at this only from the perspective of users until your thread. I knew a VPN, which I use, would get around me having to provide id in the majority of cases. What I hadn't thought about was the impact on providers. I tended to think of them as big money making enterprises but of course individuals like you running forums etc will get caught up in the mess.

Exactly. I don't know how feasible it would be to set up some sort of ID check on here and I would never do it anyway just on principle.

We could be gone tomorrow for all I know, that is the state of affairs we're in.
