Went to Laguna on Greyfriars Place earlier and chowed down on this sucka.

Absolutely lovely stuff.

That looks awesome, reasonable price?

Quite unreasonable actually.

The missus bought me some sort of voucher for my Xmas pressie so I'm not sure how much she paid but we had a couple of drinks, starter and dessert and it cost an extra 60 notes.

Plus I made the mistake of parking in Greyfriars NCP and got robbed for £11.90 for two hours stay the fuckers.

Bloody hell is that place still going? Me and the missus had a couple of very nice meals in there probably 20 years ago,

Really? Didn't realise it had been going that long. First went there about 5 years ago, me and the missus like it there so we go about once a year. She'll usually find vouchers for the afternoon tea they do which is always nice.

I’m sure it was about 2005ish. I remember it being quite simple food but very well cooked and presented, much like what you have there. The beef looks very tasty.

Yeah here's the blurb about it

Was there just the one peppercorn sauce as well?
Yeah but it was more than enough, there was some other sauce as well not in the picture. Was a white sauce with green bits in it but wasn't as nice as the peppercorn sauce. Mushrooms were lush as well.

Always have the scotch egg for starter wherever I go and it was pretty decent, not as good as the one I had at the Coal Exchange though.

Yes. Very nice. If you want the best meat in town [insert joke here] then Assador 44 is the place to go imo. Pricey though.
Aye Asador 44 is probably the best restaurant I've been to in town, same guy/guys own Bar 44 as well

Tried Grand Sylhet (used to be India Kitchen) in Birchgrove this week. Interesting menu, good mix of classic and slightly unusual, food very good, I’ll be going back.
7.5/10
