I still chuckle when I remember your description of what it's like to be under the big flag when it surfs over the crowd

Probably the feeling of an endless blanket? I've never been under the flag, and I don't really feel like it.

Well the flag isn't made of the usual light, billowy flag material, it's more like a heavy plasticy canvass, plus it was stored at the back of Arfur's shed for months on end.

So the way Arfur described it to me was that the crowd would be all cheering and happy and full of pride seeing this massive city flag moving over the top of the fans towards them but the joy quickly turned to revulsion as this heavy, slimy material just scraped over you, covering you with gunge the whole time it travelled over you

May just be the angle of the photo but the gap between the penalty area and touch line seems much wider on one side
