Immigrants in Wales protesting about immigrants in England.
Couldn’t make it up.
Oldham Athletic."These immigrants need to integrate".
The British called Indians "Wops" in their own country. The influx of English people during the Industrial Revolution into Wales meant that the Welsh language eventually became the second language in this country. The British set up prisoner of war camps during the Boer war, giving captives goat dung tea as a drink. British football fans have caused deaths at a number of matches on the continent, and "Egg and Chips" was the most common food eaten by British tourists in Spain during the Package Holiday craze.
Oh, and in The Philippines last week, I saw an Oldham Athletic fan (wearing his football shirt with pride) walking hand in hand with his girlfriend who was, at a guess, not a day older than 16.
Perhaps the British need to stop feeling so fucking entitled.

Thing is though Ade, those things are all wrong. Using examples of things that are wrong doesn’t excuse other things that are wrong. They’re still wrong."These immigrants need to integrate".

I know what I like and it’s white white white.

As is allowing thousands of young men that we know nothing about to come here and then expect to be given free bed and board when they have no right to be here. You said earlier that it’s only a small percentage of the population but when it’s in enough numbers to take over hotels up and down the country then it’s a problem - especially when we’re constantly being told that there’s no money in the kitty and services are continuing to be cut to the bone.
Whatever the reason it’s time for this system to stop. It’s not working.People have always looked for asylum here. The issue is that, now, they come by boats. The second issue is that the Tories, whether through incompetence or design, have made each asylum claim take years instead of months. That's years of them being here waiting to see if they can stay or get sent back. Years of not being allowed to work, and pay taxes.
The fact that there is no money in the kitty, and services are being cut to the bone is not because we have a relatively small number of asylum seekers in this country. It's because, for 14 years, there has been an onus on increasing the wealth gap.
There's no money in the kitty because we allow massive companies to make massive profits here and pay a pittance in taxes. I'm wondering why no-one is getting angry at that.
I think that Labour have made some interesting changes today to tackle migration. I think one key motivation for people coming here by boat is because they know they can quickly apply for the rest of their family to join them. Now that route is closing, will it mean that people will be less likely to come on a boat here? We'll have to wait.
The biggest issue with illegal migration isn't the boats. It's the people who do things that their visa doesn't allow, the students who get pregnant (or make a girl pregnant) and end up staying here. Asylum seekers do have a right to be here - that's international law. People on expired visas etc have no right to be here. Bizzarrely, the Border Agency doesn't keep a record of people leaving, or overstaying. I'd have thought this would be easy for them to do.
I agree, the wronguns up a ladder taking down the flag of their own country or painting over their own flag on a roundabout are a danger to everyone.
Whatever the reason it’s time for this system to stop. It’s not working.
If the system is broke then fixit. Properly, instead of tinkering around the edges and pretending to fix it.
Bring in the ones we want and tell the rest to go back home.
If we’ve got money to put them up in hotels and give them free food then do it for own homeless.
We all know it’s just a scapegoat for governments to use as an excuse to allow their cutbacks. So the best way to deal with that is to take away their excuse. No illegal immigration = no excuse.
Successive governments have been happy to sit back and allow this immigration bullshit because it suits them. As much as Farage is a cunt he’s also forcing the government to address the issue. Which they will, because ultimately they can see voters actually considering a bunch of cunts like Reform. If that kicks their arse into gear and makes them deal with things properly then Reform’s one trick pony routine no longer exists.
All valid points, the people who arrive on small boats are, pardon the pun, a drop in the ocean.Yeah, the system is definitely broken.
And that plays into the hands of the likes of Farridge, Yaxley-Lennon and others.
I still think the boats coming across are not the biggest issue. I've helped people get visas, a colleague from India who wanted to bring his wife across being one example. As part of that I joined an Immigration forum where advice is given - but not advice to break the rules.
Literally, every day there are posts there from students who have just arrived trying to claim asylum. There are people with criminal records asking how to get Citizenship. Then you have the foreign girlfriends, who come across when heavily pregnant and give birth - often finding a bill of a few thousand quid from the NHS. They come across thinking that, as soon as they give birth, the UK is legally obliged to keep them here. A lot of those get sent back at the end of their visit visas. Also, the foreign girlfriends/boyfriends who come on holiday and try to get married. The system does work in those cases.
Where the system is failing is this massive backlog. The Tories deliberately run it down. Asylum claims would be seen inside 4 months, around a third would be rejected (but then face appeals). Now it is taking closer to 2-3 years. It's not because of the numbers coming across. It's because there is a due process that is taking way too long.
Putting them in hotels is a massive mistake. They are all together, and when they find a "system" that works for them to get asylum, they share that knowledge. Also, putting them together makes them an easily identified target. I'm against detention, generally, but even I now think that these folks need to be detained, their claims processed urgently, and then sent back or allowed to stay and contribute.
The system is also failing because there is no tracking of migrants once their visas expire. Again, on that immigration forum there are loads of cases of people saying thing like "My visa expired in 2018, how do I get an extension now?". Again, the advice is always "Go back home" from the forum experts there. Of course, they won't go back home. They'll carry on living here, working illegally, not paying taxes, using fake names at hospitals. None of these people came on boats.
So, as much as it pains me to say this, we also need national ID cards. Migrants had, until recently, Biometric Residence Permits. If an employer wants to employ a migrant, they have to do a quick 2 minute check online to see if that person is legally entitled to work here. A lot of employers, even the big ones like the DWP, don't even understand how this process works! Another ex-colleague of mine - who I know overstayed his visa - got a job at a Council. They didn't even check he was allowed to work here! Or, what work he was allowed to do. Smaller businesses have no idea, a local care home being one who hired people who weren't allowed to work in the UK. It's not the business's fault, the system is too complicated. But, the ones often innocent get caught and get massive fines.
The system isn't stopping illegal migration, it isn't protecting people - particularly women from places like Vietnam who you'll see working in nail bars in daytime and massage parlours at night time.
People get bogged down with the boat "crisis", but the real issue of illegal migration happens with people initially coming here legally - and then the border police having no resources to actually track these people.
One other thing, some people that are sent back try to get back. Now, the Home Office will have that person's biometrics, finger prints etc. So, why when that person rocks up in Dover are they not immediately sent back (even if they have no documentation). They go through the system again, a new asylum claim slightly different from the last one. Also, why do some ex-students - once they get asylum - go back home straight afterwards to visit family in a country that they claimed was dangerous? I'd say that just doing that means their visa should be revoked.
The Boat arrivals could be dealt with a lot quicker, and with humanity. The majority of these people have legitimate claims for asylum, and the Government can always alter the criteria to make it fewer people.
Labour are starting to get their arses in gear - Starmer knows that getting rid of this issue gives Reform fuck all to campaign about. If he sorts this, then it will just be Reform and the Tories and the Lib Dems fighting for 2nd, 3rd place. But, he does have to sort it out and not by threatening "mass deportations".
All valid points, the people who arrive on small boats are, pardon the pun, a drop in the ocean.
But they’re a quick and easy weapon to use against the government and score political points.
Should they be stopped? Yes. But that’s because I don’t like people traffickers and I don’t like people drowning in the channel.
If starmer stopped the boats, the righties would have to find something else to whip up the masses with.
You’re not going to be prime minister with that kind of approach though.Burning hotels and looting Greggs, and painting roundabouts isn't going to do diddly squat except make people look like twats.
Mass deportations without due process won't fix anything either - it'll cost a fortune.
A well thought out approach, which removes the people that shouldn't be here, catches people before they become illegal, and ensures we remain a diverse and multi-cultural society, surely that's an aim most people will agree with?
You’re not going to be prime minister with that kind of approach though.
