Manchester City midfielder Tommy Doyle is set to join Championship side Cardiff on loan until the end of the season.

The deal would come after ending Doyle's current loan spell at Hamburg. He would then join Cardiff with the aim of achieving more playing time in order to aid his development.

If a deal can be agreed in the coming days, a medical should be completed imminently.

I don't think there's any doubt that the Championship is a higher standard than B2. He may have been struggling with the language or different football culture or as such a young lad just be homesick. Should be easier here for him hopefully

If this happens, then given why he’s coming here you would assume SM has guaranteed he’ll be a regular starter. I have to say I’ve never heard of him, fingers crossed he’s the type of creative midfielder we’ve been so desperate for.
