Don't get why bringing in keeper.

Smithies has been excellent, Day is cover, Ratcliffe is highly rated. An experienced right back is more important, a defensive midfielder would also balance the squad better. Same with Benkovic - which of Morrison and Nelson will be dropped? Will he piss Arteta off by dropping Tutu and putting Nelson at RB?

Think we've brought in more than people expected which is always good but I'm not convinced we've filled our needs.

Wilson? Cracking loan, ends reliance on Tomlin.

For me our other areas of need are a RB and a DM.

We've come out of the window addressing neither of those. Phillips is a very good keeper, but Smithies has been excellent. If Benkovic signs, is he a player for an area of need? Those two may be good players, I'm just not convinced they are in areas we desperately need to improve.

I'm surprised Whyte hasn't gone somewhere. Maybe he is being groomed as RB cover?

We've gone from two keepers capable of starting to now having another two capable of starting. In this economic climate, I just don't think that's particularly clever given imo we need a RB and a DM.

I'm not saying Phillips isn't anything other than a very good keeper, but it's priorities. If we'd moved Smithies on then fine.

We had Murphy fill in in the the past. I'd say he was equivalent to Day.

I just think most people wouldn't have viewed keeper as a high priority.

Possibly, and I think that would be a good option ( mostly because I said that before ) but I think we'd have seen him playing u23 games at RB if that was the plan.

EDIT: Matty Cash started as a winger if memory serves me right, so not impossible for a wide player to move back.
