Attempted two films today.

First up, One Battle After Another. My choice.

Lasted 15 minutes. Pile of utter wank. Long enough to see a brave strong black woman and lots of nasty white blokes. Brave black woman liberated an immigration detention centre filled with women and children. Not a single brown man in sight. Brave black woman makes nasty white man get an erection to humiliate him. Brave black woman demands sex from white man because she’s so empowered. And that was all in the first 15 minutes.

It was truly terrible. Like an amateur dramatics performance by the Green Party. Needless to say my missus pointed out that it was me who decided to watch it. 0/10


Then I watched Frankenstein. The new version from last year. My missus chose this one.

Not usually my cup of tea but I really enjoyed it. Obviously we all know the story but it’s a really good reworking of it that makes two and a half hours fly by. If you enjoy a proper story, decent acting and something that makes you think a little bit then you should give it a go. 8.3/10
