It was the right decision. He did very well last year, and we should thank him for his services. We need greater physicality it the Championship and we need to make space for that whilst allowing our youngsters some opportunities.

We absolutely dodged a bullet by not extended his contract this season.

One good season out of 5 at the club and that was in division 3. He would do well to find a decent League 1 team to join next season. As the previous 4 seasons have shown, he below average at Championship level.

I think we have a few players in a similar position. Memories are short and with the blue-tinted glasses, we think we have a team to rival prime Barcelona. In reality, we have a team of players relegated from the championship a year ago, with a few kids and a goalie thrown in. I think Tan will need to invest a lot if we want to avoid hovering around the relegation places.
The other thing we have now is a really good young manager.
I’m really not sure anyone thinks we’re prime Barcelona do they? Not that I’ve seen anyway. I’d be surprised if anyone thought that we could compete in the Championship without bringing in some quality additions to go alongside our young talent.

Absolutely.

We’ve got a good young manager who’s given us a style of play with a promising group of youngsters but the one thing we’re completely lacking is a bit of steel.

Apart from Salech I’m struggling to see anyone that would relish getting stuck in like we did under Warnock. No matter what style of football you play you still need the ability to stand up to physicality.

Barca of 2008-2012 didn't have much physicality.

Just saying.

They did though.

Puyol, Yaya Toure, Mascherano to name but three.

Same as Man City over the past few years - renowned for their flair but still have that ability to dish it out with players like Fernandinho, Rodri etc.

Salech and Fish are the only 2. We need someone that doesn't mind leaving a boot in now and then. Sensible like. Lincoln could play but could mix it as well and thats what ultimately and deservedly won them the league. When you look at the championship most teams have a couple of shitcunts in them. You just have to have it at that level.
