Anyone going to this tonight?

What a venue. Cheapskate bastards :hehe:
Exactly. The venue baffled me. Should have held it down the ricoh suite at the CCS and packed them in. Would not cost that much.
Sold out very quickly too Jim. My nephew went online not long after they went on sale and none available. Be interesting to see the make up of the audience.

The club would probably be happy enough to do it for the bar money and maybe a modest cover you'd think.

Splott cons is either desperate or dirt cheap which is a weird message to send out for what should be a prestigious event.

I take it you're going or watching? If so, grateful for your thoughts

That’s been organised by that Si lad, who does that podcast. He did the Andy Campbell night a few of us attended.

Not going Jimmy. My nephew was going to get us two tickets and i agreed to go, but not available/sold out quickly. In the meantime a ticket become available via a mate, but i let my nephew have it. If i am honest i am not a fan of Mooney, and would be tempted to ask some sticky questions, mainly relating to lack of PR and Commercial enterprise post Ukraine game and pre WC Qatar, and why there seems to be a huge drive towards the women's game and very little news and promotion of the men's game. Maybe it is just me becoming an old Curmudgeon, but i get the impression the FAW is focusing too much on ticking the EDI and female representation box at the expense of keeping up the momentum from what the men's game achieved in 2016 and 2020.

I agree. Feels like the FAW have very much taken their eye off the ball the last few years. I want the women to do well and wish them success but it feels like they're dominating limited resources. I get bombarded with info about their games but I'm not interested as City and Wales mens is enough footie for me.

Yes i am all for them being successful and fully support that. I will go to the play off game.
I was reading some article from a few years ago. This was one of the paragraphs:

Four women sat on the FAW Council meeting that has just taken place in Newport as they look to help shape the future of the Welsh game.

Four out of 28 votes on the governing body may not seem a lot, but in FAW male dominated ‘blazer brigade’ terms it represents the start of a seismic shift.

One which FAW chief executive Noel Mooney believes will create a ‘snowball effect’ as they look to have at least 40 per cent gender parity by the time of the next set of elections in 2027.

“Once these four make their mark, and they’re already talking up well at meetings, it will create an unstoppable force,” predicts Mooney. “I’d love us to get to 50 per cent women on our various decision making bodies, which is obviously a greater representative of the make-up of Welsh society.”

There are other things he has come out with since he became CEO, that don't sit well with me. I believe there has been some internal purges too. But i cannot verify that.

We don't have the money that bigger countries have to divert significant funds to the women's game (I don't know that's happening but assume it is). If the men's team becomes too mediocre then the FAWs income will be hit massively.

You're joking?

In Habershon St?

My uncle and auntie used to be the stewards there
Used to go out with a bird from Habershon St, right nutter. In fact my wife is from Splott as well, nightmare.
