I don’t pretend to know much about how the trust or supporters clubs work but what I do know is that people like Sloop give up a lot of their time for little reward and probably a fair bit of aggro. It’s these people that are the heart and soul of the club whether it’s attending meetings, organising away trips or simply acting as a link between the fans and owners. If you’re a fan of the City chances are you’ll have been helped in some way by them.

For others to then come in and think they can just discredit these people, ride roughshod over their organisation and use an already established trust to push their own agenda is out of order - especially when it appears to be a front for an embarrassing ex hooligan who doesn’t even live here anymore and has spent years sulking because his mate Sam is no longer around to make him feel important.

Ultimately all these completely unrelated new members who just happened to join in a short period of time have got two options. Either get involved, put yourselves up for election and change things from within or form your own organisation where you’ll be free to do whatever you want.

My guess is that now they haven’t got their own way they’ll scuttle off and moan about how they were cheated out of their plan.

I'm hearing that the motion to remove the board has been withdrawn.

The meeting will go ahead on Friday without a vote, but the present board stays in place until the elections scheduled for next year..

I expect something more official will be forthcoming soon.
