Wednesday night is a celebration under the lights at the Cardiff City Stadium, giving the City faithful a chance to salute the squad that has delivered us back to the Championship.

Port Vale arrive desperate for points as they battle to escape the drop zone, currently sitting precariously in 23rd place. They’ll be fighting for their lives, but with Cardiff playing for pride and the joy of the game, expect an open encounter.

Just noticed Port Vale's run in, poor bastards

Us, Plymouth, Stockport and Lincoln, all while relying on other results.

Could be worse. We and Lincoln don't need to win now and could be slacking off / not playing our best team

The con is on:hehe:

I'm not opposed to it but seems a strange promotion to offer an away team

I guess for a midweek game where we aren't expecting many away fans it's a way of boosting numbers and revenue bit.

Maybe but the cheapness might make it less profitable all in all. The club doesn't directly benefit from the food or drink sales I don't think. Now we're up it's academic but do we actually want more away fans unless they're paying their way?

Not sure it's about the fivers, more about maybe more full price fans might travel if they can get a ticket for their mate, it's almost a 2 for 1 offer and might encourage a few who were on the fence about coming

Good point, well made

Could be a good game as a draw is absolutely of no use to Port Vale.

Be nice to see us properly control the game and show what we know the team is capable of

I'm expecting a bit of an after the Lord Mayor's parade kind of vibe from us. If the crowd is really positive I think they'll respond to that but otherwise think they might be going through the motions a bit. Expect us to try and control the game and win but don't see us taking any risky tackles or bookings and we might be lacking the hunger needed to put Vale away.

Very likely and I think what happens with Lincoln tomorrow will have a bearing on our mindset

Well I'm going Wednesday £7 for a ticket in the Ninian stand( where is that by the way) so the players better shape up..Have I been skanked on the ticket price then

Ninian Stand is Bob Bank equivalent

If Port Vale don't win, they are down. Have to wonder how badly their league season was affected by the Cup run?

Ahh but will we be on ‘on the beach’ or ‘playing with freedom’ ? Take your pick.
