But they were testing it for a reason, if it makes an appearance over a race weekend then you’d imagine it would be banned
That's what testing is for, a number of things get tested. The fact it was used for one run only would indicate it didn't appear an avenue for them to pursue.

I'd imagine it would get banned for safety reasons; opening a wing is one thing, completely flipping it over another - not secured correctly, goes flying off hitting car behind...

Testing is for wumming mun.
Omg. You dont genuinely believe they give off their real race car do you?
Literally every driver was talking about lifting and coasting... you think Alonso was wumming with his comment the team chef could do the speed they were doing in turn 12.

Teams sandbag, absolutely.

This is a consequence of the new regs.

The biggest issue I see this year is the starts.

Apart from Ferrari, most teams are struggling there.

There’s a video doing the rounds of Hulkenberg stalling multiple times at a start

The problem is the turbo lag. Ferrari warned about it last year, were ignored.

Testing, Ferrari engines were like lightning from the start whereas others were slow getting away - anti stall also kicked in.

Ferrari made a smaller turbo which has less lag; other teams seem to have improved their starts towards the end of the second Bahrain test but need to have pretty high revs to match the Ferrari starts.

Watching Drive to Survive on Netflix, Episode 2 that fukwit in No.10 shows his stupid face…. Fucking Starmer wanting his Netflix moment

Almost as predictable as you popping up on Maesteg hub to update people about buses :hehe:

I’m interested to see some more details on that issue, as the season progresses. The old turbo-era cars had 100cc less displacement, typically fewer cylinders and laggy turbochargers the size of dustbin lids, yet I recall their getting off the line like scalded cats.

Given the technology improvements in the intervening 30+ years, I would have thought that the 2026 non- MGU-H turbos would be superior to those of the 1980s, or am I missing something? Perhaps management of fuel consumption is somehow at the root of it.

Might be worth lumping on Aston Martin either not starting or 2 DNFs in Australia.

Newy in a press conference has stated they've a problem with vibration in the chassis - caused wing mirrors to fall off - but worse, it's going through drivers hands.

Stroll said it's like being sat in a chair and electrocuted, Alonso concerned about the risk of permanent nerve damage.

Love vibration in the chassis

So does this mean lazy Graham might actually put up a bet or two?

Alonso said he'd last maybe 25 laps before the vibrations caused him damage.

Stroll said 15 laps.

Both have somehow had wrists broken in biking accidents in recent years, and Stroll had further surgery on his wrist last year.

PaddyPower offering odds on 20 of the 22 drivers not finishing, but not Alonso or Stroll...

You'd have thought if it was that bad, they'd not start but given the disastrous testing, 10 laps from each of the drivers at race pace would give valuable data.

ALonso never seems to have luck with Honda engines, cost him a potential Indy500 win.
