Rant time…

Cost of fuel is getting absolutely fucking ridiculous. And before I get ohhh there’s a war in Iran reply’s maybe fact check 1st.

90% of the oil used in the UK comes from Norway and northern Europe with only 10% coming by way of the Gulf.

Yes barrel prices are fluctuating but it’s sitting around $90/barrel, which 2 weeks ago saw prices at the pump under 145.9. In Bridgend it was as low as 132.9.

When the Gulf war kicked off in the 90’s fuel was around 75p/ltr and only went up to 80p/ltr.

The current state is pure profiteering or as Dick Turpin would say Daylight Robbery. We’re in a cost of living crisis where people are watching every single penny and they’re just whacking the prices up ridiculously, 12p in one day at some forecourts.

Unfortunately we have no option but to pay these prices but when do we say enough is enough??

The petrol currently being dispensed was refined and shipped months ago so why charge us now over and above what it cost at the time. Yes, I can see a case for a price hike in weeks/months to come as the cost rise filters through but this is taking the piss.

The bigger issue is the rise in fuel will result in everything going up as everyone relies on the combustion engine for some part of the supply chain for everything.

Petrol companies have always worked on a `price to replace' system, much easier to confuse the public and take advantage
