Minutes have now been published, I see, after a delay of nearly 10 days waiting for the club to approve them.

[I did try to copy & paste the minutes but it's tables in a pdf and while they looked OK before I pressed submit. they were all over the place after!]

I did check for another thread - couldn't see one?

Anyway... one of the more amusing exchanges: -

FAB The Evidence is clear that there is need for full time footballing expertise at board level more than ever this season. Will this be part of Tan Sri Vincent Tan’s “period of review” and if so, how?
MD We are a unique Board in the sense that we can advise and execute but cannot make decisions without referring to the major shareholder. Would I personally like more football expertise on the Board? The answer would be ‘absolutely’, but it would need to be a trusted person and it’s not as simple as it sounds. However, the board would welcome more football knowledge, and I agree it would benefit us if we could get the right person. We do believe in SB who has been at the club for 27 years; I, through my many years in football, do have a lot of experience, so it’s unfair to say there is no football experience at all on the board.

I think Mehmet needs "football experience" explaining to him. It's no wonder Tan doesn't think he needs extra football experience at board level if he's being told that trying to sell Man Utd to Colonel Gadaffi counts :hehe:

To be fair I think he does talk sense most of the time it’s just the loony at the top that fucks things up.

FAB asked if the current 125 badge would stay on permanently given how well it was received
by fans. KC confirmed it was a one off for the 125 season and the club is reverting to the club

He thinks 'football experience' is best managed by a builder. He's off his rocker!

If Tan bought Ferrari he'd have Ken Choo designing the cars because of all his automotive sector experience

That is such an obvious quick little win that would have cost the club nothing

Baffled me, one of the only things about last season that was well received and with the scrutiny they’re facing, why not keep it as it is?

So out of touch with the fan base.

Totally agree mate. Would have been a very easy win for the Club to have just kept it on the shirt, even if just the home shirt. It just proves to me, there is no thought for improving the relationship with the fanbase.

A few tokenistic things would help - like consulting fans on the badge and away kits. It seems that the whims and pride of an absentee landlord are the only things that matter though

We asked MD about consulting fans about kit design at a meeting last season. I cannot remember the exact answer, but i will try and find it in our notes. But, it was along the lines of, kits are are agreed with manufactures well in advance, i am sure it was a season in advance. Again, i will try and dig it out. I would wager about 90% of fans would want the mid 70s to 1980 kit all day long. Wouldn't that be any easy win for the Club.

I've no doubt kits are planned well in advance but that doesn't mean they can't accommodate some fan input. If they'd asked about the away kit this season instead of taking a shit design and pushing PR gibberish they might have sold more than eight of them
