I worked in a factory in Caerphilly in the early 70’s that made fabric for the rag trade one of the colours very popular then was ni**er Brown,as l say it is ingrained in the very dna of adults around in those times

I had to order a steel container for work about 5 years ago and when I asked what colour the guy wanted he said "ni**er brown" and walked off. Not a hint of him trying to be funny or attempt to be racist, it was just an accepted term for someone of his generation.
 
Crown paints, I think it was, had a colour called ni**er brown many many years ago.
 
Growing up as a child in the valleys in the late 50’s early 60’s l was sent to something called Sunday School run by the local church / chapel.I will never forget one of the songs that was sung was (l don’t remember it all ) but the first line was
There was a little darky,his name was happy Joe :hehe:
 
Abertridwr and Senghenydd had a brass band in the thirties called the
Chocolate Coons
